Getting married at the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls

One of the best things about planning a Niagara Falls wedding is that your options for where to have it are almost limitless.

So you’ve already decided that the traditional church route isn’t for you and you’re looking for more unique options that people will want to remember. Well, having your wedding ceremony at Maid of the Mist is definitely one of the best ways to do it.

For anyone who hasn’t heard of it, the Maid of the Mist is a boat tour located in Niagara Falls that takes visitors as close as possible, within several hundred feet, to the Falls themselves. This close-up view of the falls allows people to hear and even feel the thunderous power of the water as it spills over the edge above them.

Choosing to get married at this unique attraction is an option that few couples have made, not because it’s not a good idea, but because many people don’t even know that getting married at the Maid of the Mist is even an option for them.

The famous boat tour company allows couples to get married on their boats, however you will need to get permission from the company and arrange to bring your own minister on the boat with you because contrary to popular belief, the captain cannot perform the ceremony.

Another thing to keep in mind is that each time the boat departs it carries several hundred passengers with it, so the cost of renting it solely for your ceremony may be too high a price to pay. One way around this has been to allow only a small number of tourists on the ship during a wedding, reducing the cost and giving tourists something interesting to talk about when they get home.

3) The last major step for this wedding is to make arrangements with the Maid of the Mist Boat Company as soon as possible. You will need to give them all the information of what you are planning and exercising at the best time of the day and how much it would cost you.

It’s a big company, but they do everything they can to make your day as perfect as possible, as long as you put as much time and planning into it as possible.

One thing to note here is that Maid of the Mist is a private company, so it’s their discretion if they want to continue having weddings on their ships. Another good reason to plan ahead.
