Be SMART when setting your goals

You have to be very smart about what you do to plan the future goals that you want to achieve throughout your life. If you read my blog regularly, you will know how positive I am about everything. You can increase how much you are capable of, when you are positive about what you can accomplish.

The power of the mind is greatly underrated. It’s a fact: people with positive energy achieve more throughout life, compared to people who are very negative. You would never hear Bill Gates or Donald Trump say “I can’t do that.” That is why they are so successful. They would say “I can do that, let’s make it happen.” They both came from nowhere. They weren’t born with money. They worked hard and achieved their dreams one by one. Of course, other people pushed them and told them that it was not possible. But they always had a positive attitude and never gave up. Great people never give up.

Do you have that greatness in you? You can achieve greatness if you stick with it every day. Like a sports star who practices every day. They are great because they practice every day. You have to set your daily goals like you would with anything else. Do them every day and improve your compliance. Goals can help you and your business to the next level. Work hard on each one until you achieve that goal and move on to the next. It sounds very easy, but it can be devastating to your self-confidence down the road. You will come across all sorts of major distractions and road blocks. You have to stay strong and believe in what you are doing. Don’t let anything get in the way of the goals you want to achieve.

When setting goals, you need to think about everything you want to achieve and put it in a sequential order. Taking every step is important. But knowing what steps to take and when to take them can be even more important. Make every daily goal achievable. I’ve said this before; Nothing will happen if you make your daily goals unreal or unattainable. Think about everything from your resources to the time you spend each day. Studies show that people are more likely to achieve their goals if they are measurable for that person. In other words, don’t overdo it. That can be very daunting in and of itself.

I read this a while ago from a great positive thinker. Use the SMART system to set your daily goals.

S – Specific

M – measurable

A – Achievable

A: realistic

T – Timely

Specific it’s pretty obvious. But many people don’t set specific goals at all. Set precise and very detailed goals. Wave targets will only confuse you and divert your focus. A good example would be if you said “I want more sales this quarter.” Instead, it should say “I want to increase my sales by __ percent.” Make the percentage specific and realistic for what you want to achieve. Drawing up a specific plan will be of great help to you.

Measurable It is important. People like to see their goal and try to achieve it. Some goals cannot be reached immediately. You have to undermine it every day. Most people like us can’t go through a hoop and be rich. We have to work hard to get it. Make a chart or list so you can keep track of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales. Compare all your data. Make the necessary changes according to what works best.

Realizable it is good for you to teach yourself. Making your goals achievable means keeping them within reach. If you made 10 sales last quarter, it is unrealistic to say that you will have 1 million sales this quarter. But if you continue to achieve your daily goals, you will do so later. People have a bad habit of destroying their goals by waiting too long for what will happen to their business. Then it results in disaster and they give up on it. It’s good to underestimate yourself once in a while. Just keep in mind that you have to undermine that main goal every day. Don’t let it slip away without achieving that goal.

Be Realistic is the one who can slap you in the face. Most people have a habit of being very dreamy and unrealistic when setting their goals. Make sure what you want to achieve is something that can be done. Look at it from all sides, from the consumer to whether it is legal or not. Make sure you are mapping your daily goals to achieve a realistic one. A good example would be; If you have to change the laws to achieve your goals; then it’s probably a bad idea. There is nothing worse than trying to reach an impossible goal. Especially if you are using a positive attitude to make sure you can pull it off.

Timely It’s the one that most people don’t like. You have to sacrifice and dedicate time to your goals every day. Don’t procrastinate! Take your butt off when you have free time. Even if it’s only 5 minutes here and there during the day. Don’t take any time off of your daily goals and accomplishments. At the same time; You have to be fair to yourself and only fit in with what you can do during the day. Break each objective down into a small, timely task. One small step at a time. Don’t do more than one goal at a time unless absolutely necessary.

When you break your goals down into small, simple tasks, it will be more appealing to accomplish them. You will find more time to work on them. That’s all it is. Make your goals concrete, set in stone, and as easy to do as possible. Don’t take too many things at once and you will never get discouraged from your goals. We all have goals and dreams. Not many people can say that they achieved all their goals and dreams when all is said and done. You have to work hard and never give up to be in that league of people. But it’s not impossible!

Just don’t lose touch with your life responsibilities. Many people get lost in their work when trying to achieve their goals. They can lose the good things in life. Don’t be that person who loses. Enjoy your life, you only get one chance. I like to live by the saying of the great Benjamin Franklin; “Work like you’re going to live to see a hundred. Play like you’re going to die tomorrow.”
