How to avoid gaining weight during the winter

The first thing I remember during my first visit to Japan was walking out of the freezing airport. It had been snowing in January and it was not something he was used to. I remember eating a lot back then because the cold weather made me feel hungry all the time. I was never used to eating too much, but it helped me feel full and kept me warm.

After several months of this lifestyle, I began to feel heavy. My baggy pants were already tight. And when I went to check my weight on my mom’s scale, I realized that I had gained weight. My mom assured me that it is normal to gain weight during the winter, but gaining twelve kilos was not little. So I decided to cleanse my body, start a diet and do some exercise.

To cleanse my body I drank 2 cups of tea which allowed me to expel all the toxins I had inside. It was not a pleasant experience because of the stomach pain that was part of the process. But when all the toxins were removed from my system, I started to feel better.

Next, I bought high-fiber foods. Fruits and oatmeal were my usual breakfast every morning. Although when I started, I was not very satisfied. It was probably because he wasn’t used to eating a light breakfast let alone oatmeal. But I got used to it after a couple of days.

I also did a water diet where I only drank water whenever I was hungry between meals. This helped quell my hunger until the next meal.

Most importantly, I never missed a meal. He ate three times a day at a time interval of 4 to 6 hours. That’s why he didn’t have to eat too much. I found that eating regularly helped me feel full.

Finally, exercise helped me lose weight. I did my morning stretches and walked for at least an hour every day around the city. It also helped keep me warm.

So while it may have been easy to gain weight over the winter, losing weight wasn’t that easy. It required a lot of patience and self-control.
