Proform 730 Treadmill Review – Don’t Buy Yet

Is the Proform 730 treadmill a smart buy or not? That depends on what you want to use it for. These are the IMPORTANT facts to help you decide if it’s right for you.

Price

It sells for just over $700, a bargain compared to other modern machines. If you want to save money, you should definitely think about this.

But remember that usually get what you pay for for with treadmills. And as you’re about to find out, this one is no exception.

Energy

Surprisingly, the motor has decent power…it comes with a 2.0 “continuous horsepower” motor. This puts the Proform 730 treadmill ahead of many of the company’s other models.

But the problem is that it has a large belt to push…which tends to wear out the engine fast.

For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend going full 10 miles per hour. You’re just ASKING for trouble by pushing it to the limit.

strap size

It has a running area of ’20’ by ’55’ inches, quite impressive when compared to similarly priced models. This is large enough for taller people to use comfortably.

So it has some nice features… but will it last?

Maybe, maybe not. The 90-day warranty certainly doesn’t provide much confidence in its reliability.

You may end up SPENDING MORE on this model in the future than if you simply bought a better quality machine up front.

The conclusion…

If you only plan on walking with it or maybe going for a light jog, the Proform 730 treadmill should last you a while. But if you’re more serious, but still want to save money, you may want to buy a high-quality used or “refurbished” model.
