To work as a Customer Service Representative in the insurance profession, the state of Florida requires a 4-40 license. Licensing is available either by taking a state licensing exam or by taking a designation course such as the Designation of Registered Customer Service Representative offered by the University of Central Florida in association with the Florida Insurance University. The designation course exempts the student from the state licensing test.
