6 tips to keep your Gucci watch in perfect condition

With the rise and continual improvement of style, it is vital that you take good care of your Gucci watch. If you are going to spend close to a thousand dollars on a watch, and possibly more, you need to make sure it is treated regularly and cared for. Here are 6 tips to help you take care of your Gucci watch the way it should be.

1.) Time to sleep. Many Gucci watches come with some sort of scratch resistance, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. When you remove your watch, always try to put it back in its case. This will prevent it from tipping over or spilling when placed on the counter.

2.) Regular service trips. Although it is not close to the same price, you will want to look at your Gucci watch as you do with your car. Regular service trips will help your watch maintain its high quality and prevent something from breaking down in the future. If you can, try taking it to a real Gucci store to keep it authentic. At the very least, be sure to take your watch to a qualified repair shop that handles Gucci watches on a regular basis.

3.) Cleaning the belt. If your Gucci watch has a stainless steel or metal strap, it is fine to clean it with soap and water to keep it clean. When drying, gently rub the strap with a soft cloth. If you have a leather strap, it’s fine to gently clean it with water, but you want to dry it as quickly as possible by rubbing it gently with a soft cloth. Any type of perspiration or water over a prolonged period can damage the leather.

4.) Scratch removal. If you are confident enough to remove scratches from your Gucci watch, you can use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth to do so. Many people use Brasso or toothpaste to remove scratches. However, if you are not sure how to remove the scratches, it is better to be safe than sorry and take it to a repair or watch shop.

5.) Humidity and high temperatures. High temperatures and humidity are the worst things for watches in general. Perspiration and high temperatures can ruin the battery and mark, not to mention the strap. If you have a leather strap, it is vital that you wear it loose in the summer to prevent perspiration from building up and ruining your skin.

6.) Wind the watch. If you have a mechanical watch, it is important that you take great care when winding it. As long as you turn it slowly and not too many times, you shouldn’t have a problem. If you have an automatic watch, it’s okay to turn the hands to get the watch to work. Regardless, winding the watch around the same time of day has been shown to help extend the life of the watch.
