Herbal remedy for anxiety

Herbal remedies for anxiety are becoming more popular alternatives to prescription drugs. They are as powerful as the benzodiazepines (Valium and Xanax), but safer and do not form dependency.

* Valerian is one of the most widely used and effective herbal remedies for anxiety. It reduces anxiety, induces sleep and promotes relaxation of the main muscle groups (legs, arms and chest) while acting as a sedative and pain reliever. Research has shown that valerian calms the central nervous system faster than most prescription anxiety medications. It also has other advantages compared to prescription drugs.

For example, it does not reduce concentration, does not interfere with physical performance such as driving a car or working, and does not lead to addiction. Used as a sleep aid, it helps decrease panic attacks at night and does not cause a “morning hangover.”

However, it does not have serious consequences if it is combined with alcohol. Pregnant or nursing women and children under the age of 2 should not use valerian without a doctor’s permission.

The great benefit of Kava compared to other powerful tranquilizers is its safety, gentle effect on the body, and the fact that it improves memory, alertness, and helps fight fatigue.

* Ashwagandha (also known as Indian ginseng) has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries as the primary strengthening tonic. Taken regularly, it helps improve the mental condition of most anxiety sufferers in just a couple of months.

* Passionflower is a natural herbal remedy used to reduce nervous tension and hyperactivity, lower high blood pressure, and combat anxiety symptoms such as insomnia, restlessness, and diarrhea.

* Lemon balm was first mentioned around the 10th century AD by the Persian herbalist for its calming qualities. Today it is used as a mild relaxant to restore the nervous system, reduce high blood pressure, and calm the digestive system.

* Lavender is an excellent herbal remedy for anxiety. Helps overcome unpleasant anxiety symptoms such as restlessness, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, and abdominal discomfort.

* Motherwort is known as a “heart herb”. It increases blood circulation to the brain and is very helpful in treating anxiety associated with palpitations. It also helps relieve depression and insomnia.

* Skullcap is considered one of the best natural treatments for chronic anxiety and panic attacks. Relieves stress and muscle tension, nourishes the nervous system and promotes sleep.

* Chamomile, hops, and peppermint are commonly found in teas and tablets as mild sedatives. They are used to promote relaxation, calm an upset stomach, reduce anxiety, and stimulate sleep.

Other herbal remedies for anxiety include St. John’s wort, California poppy, catnip, feverfew, verbena, wolf grass, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, and borage juice.

There are many combinations of these natural herbs available on the market today that can ensure long-lasting relief from anxiety and depression. The most important thing is to find the right combination and dosage for you.
