How to train abs without abs

Experts and health and fitness professionals have spoken: to lose stomach fat and have flat and sexy abs, eat healthy, do full body workouts and yes, do some sit-ups. But working out your abs and building a six pack, which many people desire, is not limited to the famous, regular abdominal exercises like sit-ups. There are other types of exercises and activities that are not only great for your abs, but are also good for your health.

Work your abs by staying active! Start a cardiovascular exercise routine. This helps burn calories for energy and fat loss. If you like the gym, hit the treadmill; If you love the water, go for an early morning swim or paddle. Link with nature: run, walk in the park or ride a bike. Try to do any of these cardio exercises for 30 minutes at least three times a week. Weightlifting and muscle-building exercises can burn calories and help shed fat, making them great for working out your abs.

In addition to these exercises or workout routines, you can focus on non-traditional abdominal toning exercises / activities that can help you work your abs. Do Pilates workouts! Pilates exercises, such as the “finger bath”; “circle of legs”; “crossed”; “leg kick”; “back extension with rotation” and “lateral flexion”, works all the abdominal muscles. Like Pilates, belly dancing is also a good way to work your abs, as it focuses on strengthening your core. In belly dancing, you work your abs hard while isolating your hips from your ribs. Do the “rotary vibe,” “single leg stretch,” “modified scissors,” “hip circles,” and “roll-ups” routine for 15 minutes, five days a week and you’ll have a lean, toned abdomen.
