As with all dog training, the first few times it will take longer to get the desired result. As soon as your dog sits down, gently praise him and immediately go for a walk. By the time you step outside, your pup will almost certainly start tossing and bouncing. He just applies the same technique as before. Stand in place and calmly insist that he calm down before the walk begins. As soon as he calms down, praise him calmly and start walking. Once he starts pulling again (and he will), he will stop and insist that you calm down before continuing. Repeat this stop-and-go technique throughout the walk. And, as with any training session, make sure you end on a good note.
During the first few days of leash training, I would recommend taking at least four walks a day. More if your schedule allows it. This will provide the best and fastest results. If you follow this procedure at very regular intervals, you will achieve the desired results in less than a week. You can then settle into a regular routine that fits your schedule.
