There were many changes in patch 3.0 in wow Wrath of the Lich King; however, all of the core AOE talents for paladins remain the same: Blessing of the Sanctuary, Judgment, and Holy Shield.

One of the biggest tips I can give you for grinding AOE with your Paladin is to use shield spikes! Never go without them. Shield tip mats are pretty cheap. If you can get a thorium tip, look for a lesser one, like mithril. The good news is that as of patch 2.4.2, you no longer need a blacksmith to attach your shield spike!

There are several different AOE grinding buffs that paladins have received with the release of WoW Wrath of the Lich King. One of the biggest is the Blessing of the Sanctuary. This buff will now restore your mana when you block, dodge, or parry. This is great because now you don’t have to worry about mana as often. Some other great things that happened to Paladin is that Avenger’s Shield, Hammer of Rage, and Holy Rage are now instant cast.

I recommend that you use Hammer of the Righteous as often as possible. This will greatly increase your ability to process your judgments and seals.

One thing I really like is that it’s now much easier to heal myself (with the cast and damage taken changes). Now I feel comfortable AOE playing with 10-15 mobs around my level.
