What am I talking about that if you sleep more you feel more exhausted?! That sounds ridiculous and I know nobody wants to hear it, but it’s true. Scientists call sleeping too much drunkenness because it feels like a hangover. When you sleep too much, you’re upsetting that body clock and it starts telling your cells a different story than what they’re actually experiencing, inducing a feeling of fatigue. You may be getting out of bed at 11 am, but your cells started using their energy cycle at seven. This is all very similar to jet lag, if you’ve ever experienced it. But falling asleep won’t just ruin your day. If you sleep too much regularly, you could put yourself at risk for diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

Devices
The infamous put down your phone or laptop before you go to bed. OH NO! You can’t miss your nightly Facebook scroll to see what everyone is up to or just laugh at stupid memes all night. Well here’s the problem, you start scrolling and then after two hours you don’t realize how much time has passed and now you cut your 8 hours of sleep into 5 1/2 hours which is not enough and you will be more exhausted in the morning! Not only is it bad for your sleep schedule to just lie down in the dark and surf social media, but it’s also terrible for your eyes. You are constantly putting strain on your eyes when you are in a dark room with a bright light near your eyes. This is not only bad for your sleep schedule and can lower your chances of sleeping through the night, but it’s also bad for your eyes and can cause severe headaches. GET YOUR PHONE DOWN!

Alcohol
Yes I know, unfortunately alcohol can create more harm than good. We know you already have hangovers, which wear you down and make you more lethargic. Well folks, that can create more exhaustion and feelings of not wanting to get out of bed or just doing nothing all day but eating and resting. The day after drinking copious amounts of alcohol and barley any water will dehydrate your body like crazy and make you feel like garbage. If your end game is to get back on a good schedule and stop feeling so tired and exhausted, so you can enjoy life, then you need to cut back on the alcohol in your life and learn a healthy and happy balance.
