An old-fashioned ice cream social is a fun and inexpensive wedding party idea.

Ice cream socials make a great party theme for engagement parties, bachelor parties, afternoon wedding receptions, wedding weekend festivities the day after the wedding, or welcome home parties.

The ice cream social party theme has been delighting men, women and children for generations!

It’s so easy to create an old-fashioned ice cream social. For the budget conscious, an ice cream social offers excellent value for money! Make calculations and see for yourself!

Items needed:

1. Ice cream

You can simply serve vanilla ice cream, or you can offer a variety of flavors.

2. Various coverages

Chopped nuts, chopped orios, m&ms, chocolate chips, granola, coconut, dried fruit, fresh fruit, etc.

3. Varied sauces

Chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, strawberry sauce, hot fudge sauce, cranberry sauce

4. Whipped Cream

Regular, light, and now you can even get chocolate whipped cream!

5. Tablecloths, centerpieces, table decoration

Create a special look!

6. Serving bowls

You will need large bowls to serve the ice cream.

7. Ice scoops and serving spoons

Make sure you have enough spoons and ice scoops to serve the different ingredients.

8. Individual ice cream dishes, spoons, guest napkins

You can rent vintage ice cream dishes or even use pretty disposable bowls.

9. Camera and film

Take lots of photos and make a little scrapbook at a later date.

10. ice

Regular ice and dry ice too (if you don’t have freezers at the party venue)

11. Drinks

Tubs of icy sodas and bottled water, pitchers of lemonade, frozen ice cream stand

12. Cookies or brownies

It is not necessary but welcome!

13. Fresh Fruit Display

It is not necessary but it is also welcome!

Add something like a croquet set to your theme and you have the makings for a wonderful old fashioned party that will be remembered for a long time!
