Why you should consider buying appliances made in the USA

Buying new kitchen appliances isn’t my favorite thing to do in the world, but it has to be done from time to time. One lesson I’ve learned over the years is to try to buy appliances made in the US if possible, as they are often better supported and backed by a better warranty. In this short article, I’ll go over a few reasons why you might consider buying appliances made in the USA, even if they end up being a bit more expensive.

When it comes to appliances, one thing I’ve noticed is that my USA-made machines are often backed by a longer warranty. For example, my blender is made in Cleveland, OH and is backed by an unconditional 7-year warranty. Sure, it costs a bit more than a Chinese-made competitor, but I have no doubt it will be in service long after the competitors give up.

Another thing I have noticed is better customer service. With my American-made appliances, I usually have an English-speaking customer service representative on the phone when I call, and I end up with a better customer service experience as a result. This takes a lot of the frustration out of the equation when it comes to dealing with service issues, and it’s a preference I have.

Hopefully this short article has given you something to think about when it comes to buying your next small appliance. Focusing on price alone can often rob you of much of the satisfaction that comes with owning an appliance, and you should always aim to buy the highest quality at the lowest price available.
