8 reasons to avoid extreme sports

People advertise extreme sports events and courses as if it’s something safe and cool that you want to do. Ha! But is not! It’s not like learning to play chess or watching a great movie, not at all.

Here’s why:

1. You can be injured or killed.

It may sound very convincing that the rate of people who are killed in car accidents is higher than the rate of people who are killed by skydiving. But no matter what statistics show you, the truth is one: you can die or at least get seriously injured while doing extreme sports. Happens all the time.

And you know, of course, those who do not do such stupid things live forever.

2. It will cost you money.

Every extreme sport requires some equipment. For some sports like skateboarding it is cheaper, for others like diving it is more expensive, but without exception, doing extreme sports will cost you some of your hard earned money.

Isn’t it a much better idea to spend your money on trendy branded t-shirts or cool tech gadgets?

3. It takes time.

Most of the time, playing an extreme sport requires you to go to a special place somewhere (water, mountain, hill). It takes time to get there, it takes time to practice, it takes time to go home, it takes time to rest. Sometimes extreme sports can take up all your free time.

Isn’t this sad? You could use this time for cool activities like playing video games.

4. Your career may suffer.

Extreme sport will not only occupy your time, it will also occupy your brain. You’ll think about it, at the right time, at the next good time you’ll do it. This often kills motivation at work and makes you wait until the end of the workday.

It is much better to be a good employee, grow in career and get a good stable salary!

5. You can fall in love.

There are two ways in which you can fall in love: first, you can fall in love, and most likely you will fall in love with the extreme sport you practice. This is so bad because of the already mentioned reason. Second, you may fall in love with some of your partners, a trainer or instructor.

What an uncomfortable situation, it is much better to stay in your comfort zone and avoid falling in love with crazy things.

6. You will feel bad at times when you can’t practice.

You will miss your extreme sport when you are at work, when you are far from the right place, when you don’t have time or money, when the weather is not good… You will miss it all the time. And losing something hurts, believe me.

Life is a lot less painful when you have nothing to miss and nothing to lose, isn’t it?

7. Your old friends will think you’re crazy.

I bet they will. Imagine how they’ll look at you when you tell them you’re not joining the party on Friday because you have to get up early and go skydiving. They will think you are stupid. Many of them will get bored when you excitedly tell them about your latest mountain biking achievement. Some will even feel bad when they become fitter as a result of extreme sports.

And just think for a minute about the moment you get injured. “I told you, I told you!”

8. You will lose interest in some regular activities

Playing an extreme sport will brainwash you so much that you may lose interest in some regular activities you now enjoy. It’s not just work. You will stop being interested in cool things like watching TV shows, playing video games, and even taking fun quizzes on Facebook.

Can you imagine this? Awful!
